In recent years, this landmarked 19th-century building has been given a new lease of life. Originally built in 1988, it’s situated on the iconic 5th Avenue (within the Ladies’ Mile Historic District).
The renovation of this 212,500-square-foot building posed a unique challenge: how to create a vibrant and modern work environment while retaining the heritage of the building.
Due to its history and location, special permission had to be given by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission before any construction could begin.
The overall project took 18 months, finishing up in summer 2021. The existing building was fitted with new support columns, while new stories were also added. These include a two-story rooftop addition measuring 35,000 square feet.
Mastercard employees can now enjoy state-of-the-art facilities in a truly remarkable location.
Topline Drywall played a key part in the project and installed the following during our work at 150 5th Avenue:
- Interior drywall partitions
- Gypsum board ceilings
- Tape and spackle
- Armstrong acoustical ceilings
- USG Ceilings Plus Illusions Ceilings
- Arktura Forest Direct Mount Ceilings
- Arktura Atmosphera Contour 3D Ceilings
- Liner Metal Mesh Ceilings
- Rulon International Linear Grille Ceiling
We’re delighted to have been involved in revitalizing this beautiful part of New York City’s built heritage.
